Resettlement Volunteer
A key part of our service is helping customers to move on and find suitable accommodation. We are looking for a resettlement volunteer to work with staff and customers to help support the moving on process.
The role will require a commitment of approximately 1 day a week in our Alexandra House or Fitze Millennium Centre services. Ideally you will stay for at least 6 months to get to know customers and learn about the service.
The Resettlement Volunteer will:
- Shadow the resettlement worker
- Help identify appropriate move on routes for selected customers and provide additional support and guidance to help customers move on positively from the service
- Help build up links & maintain contacts with external agencies
- Complete referral paperwork for selected customers
- Meet 121 with customers on site to understand their referral needs
- Attend viewings with staff and customers
- Ensure Inform is up to date with details of customer meetings and interactions
- Stay up to date with safety information about customers
- Attend customer events such as brunch club to get to know customers
- Complete inductions and any necessary training
- Work with other staff as necessary
- Support the work of evolve

The following skills, experience and qualities would be preferable, but they are not essential:
- Experience of working with individuals with multiple needs
- Experience of working in the health and social care settings
- Experience of working in housing and or homelessness settings,
- Experience of using IT systems and Microsoft Packages
As a volunteer with Evolve Housing + Support, you will be able to access:
- Experience working within the charity sector
- A full, site-specific induction
- Ongoing supervision and support from Project Staff
- Travel expenses within zones 1-6 (or as otherwise agreed) and lunch expenses if volunteering over 4 hours per day in line with our volunteer expenses policy.
This role will require a DBS Criminal Records Check and the provision of two references
