This year we are pleased to report that we had our first Virgin Money London Marathon runner, who raised £2900 to support our work. Another supporter walked the Camino de Santiago, covering 500 miles and raising over £3000. We very much hope to have more people challenging themselves and raising vital funds to support our work in the coming year. We have also received donations from church and community groups and continue to work with them to provide for the people we work with.
Challenge events is a growing source of income for us, and a great way to attract and engage new supporters with our work. This year a team of 3 took part in the Vitality London 10,000, and 5 people took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. In total we’ve raised over £12,000 for challenge events this year, and plan to continue growing this in the coming year.
We also held our very first own event in Centrale Shopping Centre in Croydon, where 3 teams of 5 battled it out on static cycles to ride 110km. Spin 100+10 gave us fantastic support from the community as well as some great corporate support from Siemens Rail Automation and networking group Shaking Hands Interactive Partnerships.
Over Christmas we collected gifts and donations from schools, churches, community groups and organisations all over London, enabling us to give each one of our 700 beneficiaries a gift bag worth over £15 for Christmas. We’ll be doing the same again this year – and look out for our Christmas appeal and #Wrap4Good donation opportunities.
We are thankful to all of our fundraisers and supporters who have supported our work this year.
Next year we’re holding a Sleep Out in BoxPark in Croydon, to engage more of the community and businesses across London to help us raise vital funds to continue and grow the work we’re doing to end the cycle of homelessness. More details coming soon.
