Our latest cohort of residents have successfully completed another inspiring round of the Peer Pathways Programme, marking eight weeks of learning, collaboration, and personal development.
The programme, which is open to all residents interested in becoming more involved in the housing and voluntary sector, offers a supportive environment where participants can develop valuable skills, build confidence, and explore new opportunities for the future.
Building Skills and Confidence
Over the course of the programme, residents attended weekly sessions designed to strengthen both personal and professional skills. Each week focused on a key area of training that is essential for anyone interested in volunteering, peer support, or community-focused work.
Topics included:
These sessions not only provided practical knowledge but also encouraged meaningful discussions and shared learning among participants. By exploring real-world scenarios and reflecting on their own experiences, residents were able to deepen their understanding of how to support others responsibly and effectively.
Preparing for Future Opportunities
For many participants, the programme represents an important step towards future opportunities within the housing and voluntary sectors. The skills developed throughout the eight weeks help residents feel more confident when engaging with their communities, taking on volunteering roles, or exploring employment pathways.
Peer Pathways also highlights the importance of peer support — empowering residents to share their lived experiences, support one another, and contribute positively to the community around them.
Celebrating the Journey
In true Peer Pathways spirit, residents are now putting their teamwork and creativity into action by planning a special Easter celebration to mark the successful completion of the programme.
The event will bring participants together to celebrate their achievements, reflect on their learning, and showcase the strong sense of community that has developed over the past eight weeks. It will be a fitting way to recognise the dedication, effort, and growth demonstrated by everyone involved.
Looking Ahead
Completing the Peer Pathways Programme is just the beginning. Equipped with new knowledge, confidence, and connections, residents are well placed to continue making positive contributions within their communities.
We are incredibly proud of this cohort and look forward to seeing where their Peer Pathways journey takes them next.
