Evolve reach Big Give pledge target ahead of Christmas campaign
Evolve Housing + Support, has reached their Big Give £5,000 pledge target thanks to the kindness of local community businesses. In just two short weeks, the charity raised £5,250 in pledges to partially fund a new gender specific specialised extension of the organisations homelessness Health and Wellbeing programme.
The one-year pilot will specifically support women in London suffering who face unique challenges to men. If launched, women, those that identify as women and young women such as Shannon, will directly receive tailored support addressing gender-specific mental health barriers that prevent women and girls facing homelessness from living safely and independently. The programme will combine 1:1 counselling sessions, complementary therapies, peer support and wellbeing workshops that focus on overcoming trauma, sexual/emotional health in relationships and managing self-harm.
The charity’s £5,000 pledge target was only achieved thanks to the incredible generosity of local community businesses Fidelity Energy, Stonegrove, Walter Lilly, Croydon Rotary, ABC Maintenance, and Archway Building Consultants. Community backing for this important campaign marks an important step in providing dedicated and informed support to women across London who need it most.
As the Big Give pledge window comes to an end, Evolve Housing and Support are now encouraging those who wish to donate and support this campaign, to do so during Giving Week (30 Nov 2021 – 7 Dec 2021). All donations made during this period will be doubled, thanks to the Big Give’s champion fundraisers. In this time, Evolve is seeking to raise £10,000 in just seven days from online donations from the public in order to hit their campaign total of £20,000.
