We are very pleased to announce funding thanks to players of the National Lottery to extend our Health and Wellbeing service for homeless customers in our services, and provide more intense counselling.
The Psychological Wellbeing Programme is funded through our amazing partnership with the Big Lottery Fund. This 3 year funded programme will focus on working with some our most complex customers across every site. This new Specialist Health and Wellbeing Team will work closely with all staff to identify customers that may need some extra support. The new team will help our customers move through the recovery process by providing a range of psychological and therapeutic approaches and tools. The programme is made up of a Specialist Health and Wellbeing Manager and two Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who will work directly with our customers across all our services. These 2 staff members will be based at either Stockwell or Palmer House and will cover all our sites.
The programme also includes a Volunteer Peer Coordinator and six Wellbeing Peer Advisors who will be made up of current customers in Evolve.
The team will contribute to long-term positive outcomes for customers by addressing the underlying trauma behind their mental health challenges. The team will enable customers to develop healthy coping skills and an understanding of their behaviour which they can take forward after they have left our services. Customers will be supported by the Peer advisors to have a better understanding of available health services and can access these before any conditions worsen.
This is a fantastic new service and we are super excited to be launching in September. Huge thanks to players of the National Lottery, and the Big Lottery Fund.
