Supporting Jovan to fulfil his potential

Jovan moved into Lewis King House, one of our Bromley services for adults, in May last year. Having spent most of his childhood and adolescence in Care, he wanted to find a way he could help vulnerable people – coming to Evolve has helped him work towards achieving this goal.

Jovan was recently diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and believes that if he was diagnosed sooner this may have made a significant difference to his circumstances. He is now striving to ensure that his son receives an early diagnosis, so that he does not face the same issues that he experienced growing up.

During his time here, staff have empowered Jovan to make life-changing decisions.

‘The staff here have encouraged me to get involved and helped me understand the support available to me which is suited to my needs.’

Our team have also encouraged Jovan to become involved in a number of Work + Learning activities, including radiobroadcasting workshops with The BRIT School and a photography course with Accumul8.

Jovan is also completing a three-month work course with House of St Barnabas, and is now completing an NVQ as a Peer Advisor, which is part of our Peer Circles programme.

‘I am currently training to become a support worker as I want to give something back and help other people who find themselves in similar situations to me growing up.’

We help people to move on from homelessness and reach their full potential in all sorts of ways, tailored to each person Read more about our initiatives and programmes here.
