Festive fitness classes to help Christmas wishes come true for London’s homeless
Fitness First Balham is working with Evolve Housing + Support this December, on a Christmas fundraising campaign, to help make Christmas wishes come true for homeless people in the area.
Taking place at Balham Fitness First, members and non-members alike have a choice of three Christmas themed classes to help them keep fit and support a local cause as they dance, Zumba and circuit their way through the festive season.
Festive fitness event organiser Norman Bernard from Fitness First said: “At Christmas we all look forward to gathering together with family and friends, but there are many in our community who don’t get that. Through our festive and fun classes and raffle our members can have fun, keep fit and help to fulfil some wishes with Evolve Housing + Support. “Tickets for the raffle and gift drop are available throughout December, for those who can’t make the classes but would like to get involved, and the draw will take place on 22nd December – hopefully supplying winners with some last-minute stocking fillers or treats for themselves.”
Jasmine Jappy, Community Fundraising Manager, Evolve Housing + Support commented: “The Fitness First fundraising events are a fantastic idea and a great way to get the community involved in the campaign. Christmas is a particularly hard time for homeless people but with the help of campaigns like this we will be able to grant more Christmas wishes and give gifts which will help rebuild independent lives.”
Fitness First Balham Fundraising Classes:
Suggested donation: £1, Christmas outfits: optional, but a lot of fun.
Raffle tickets are available from reception: £1 each – winners will be called on 22nd December. The club will also have a present drop box for you to donate gifts to the gift appeal.
