‘She is often the unsung hero of Evolve’

Meet Toni, our Business Analyst, who tells us what it is like working for Evolve.

“What I really love about my job is the feeling of working for a homelessness charity that is doing something worthwhile and knowing that I make a contribution is immeasurable. Evolve is the most supportive and friendly organisation I have worked for and I genuinely enjoy coming into the office in the morning and seeing my colleagues. I enjoy problem-solving, and I get a huge amount of job satisfaction when everything is working efficiently.  Every day there is something new to learn. I’m in complete awe of the great job our staff carry out, and it is a privilege to be on hand to give system support. I am so lucky to be in a job I enjoy.”

Toni was nominated by colleagues for the ‘Head Office Team Member’ award, where she received a unanimous vote by our judging panel.

One member of staff said: “Toni works harder than anyone I know and she delivers complicated training which such patience and creativity. Toni is always very kind and has been a great support to me from when I started. She is often the unsung hero of Evolve, keeping everything running behind the scenes. I can’t think of a more deserving winner.”

Toni was presented with the award at our annual staff conference in May 2017.

“When I won the award at our staff conference, I think it took a while to sink in. I saw my name but it didn’t feel like me. On the day I was more concerned with not falling over on the way to the stage or tumbling off it! Since then I’ve wanted to punch the air on a number of occasions shouting ‘Yes!’ but I’ve managed to contain myself at work and have only done this a couple of times at home- I’m chuffed to bits!”

Toni looks forward to developing her career with Evolve.

“In the immediate future I want to improve my knowledge of our system so I can better help my lovely colleagues. The great thing about working at Evolve, well, the clue is in the name- it’s an evolving organisation with new challenges to work through and achieve.”
