We are delighted to announce that our CR Zero 2020 campaign has been shortlisted for the UK Housing Awards 2017 for ‘an outstanding approach to homelessness’
The campaign, which aims to end chronic street homelessness in Croydon by 2020, is led by Evolve working in partnership with Crisis, Expert Link, Homeless Link, Thames Reach and Croydon Council.
CR Zero 2020 is part of the European End Street Homelessness Campaign developed by the Building and Social Housing Foundation (BSHF) and FEANTSA – the European federation of national organisations working with homeless people. It is a pan European movement of cities, working together to permanently house Europe’s most vulnerable people and end chronic street homelessness by 2020. Croydon is one of the two Local Authority areas in London that are early adopters of the campaign in the UK.
Jeremy Gray, Chief Executive of Evolve said, “I am delighted that CR Zero 2020 has been nominated for this award. This campaign is hugely important for Croydon – it offers a unique opportunity to find new ways to help homeless people.”
Lee Buss, Director of Operations at Evolve said, “We are hoping that this nomination will bring further awareness to the CR Zero 2020 campaign, which will help bring about vital change to the homeless community of Croydon.”
The UK Housing Awards are widely recognised as the leading awards in the sector. Attracting over 700 of the sectors key leaders, the event serves to highlight the organisations, individuals and projects that are leading the way in affordable housing.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 26 April, at the Lancaster London Hotel.
